What an incredible year this has been for us at Insanely Cakes! We have so much to be thankful for! From being chosen by our lovely clients to be a part of their celebrations, weddings and other events to those who joined the Insane Baker  for our bespoke cake decorating classes; we are truly blessed to have been a part of your joyous memories!

During 2014 the Insane Baker also had the privilege of teaching a talented bunch of ladies in our bespoke classes:

Hobbycraft Cake Classes

 International French Exchange Students Classes

It makes me so proud to say that these lovely ladies have come a long way since their first cake decorating classes here at Insanely Cakes and we are very proud to have been a part of their journey! The Insane Baker recently interviewed the lovely Maria who was busy preparing her Christmas Mini Cake Gifts at the time.

She spoke so proudly of her first time at being willing to undertake the challenge of making her son Nathaniel's Minecraft birthday celebration cake and matching cupcakes. Maria explained that it was through completing her classes with Insanely Cakes that gave her the drive to make the cakes and here are her amazing results!

Maria's first solo attempt at a Minecraft Celebration Cake 'n Cupcakes!

Since then Maria's confidence and skills have flourished and the Insane Baker was most impressed as she watched her complete the Christmas Mini Cakes.

Another lovely Insanely Cakes student Elna who started her baking classes with us back in 2012 actually took on the incredulous challenge of making the Wedding Cupcakes for her nephew's Wedding in South Africa recently! We are very proud of the high standard and professional finish of the cupcakes particularly as Elna had the sub-tropical climate to contend with as well! As they say "the proof is in the pudding" and the Bride certainly stood testament to those words! We were given to understand that they went down a treat! Here are some photos from the big day:

Another student who grew from strength to strength in her classes was Lucy who successfully completed 6 classes with us this year! One of her final classes was the Whimsical Christmas Cake and Cupcakes Class seen here:

Sadly, Lucy and her family have moved to Kuwait but we believe that her gorgeous Christmas Cake made the journey too and has been eaten over the Christmas holidays!

It's been an amazing year for us here at Insanely Cakes but we have loved every minute of 2014 and cannot wait to see you all in 2015 for some exciting adventures in the baking world! So a little message from the Insanely Cakes family to you and yours:

New is the year;
New are the hopes;
New is the resolution;
New are the spirits;
And new are our warm wishes just for you.
Have a promising and fulfilling New Year!

See you on the other side! Lots of Insanely Cakes love and hugs! The Insane Baker and family! Xxx

A look back at 2012 as we wait to welcome 2013! Happy New Year!

Hello all,

Its been quite some time since my first blog earlier this year! We have been rushed off our feet! Its been a great debut year for us at Insanely Cakes and we would like to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone of our fans, clients and suppliers who have supported us throughout 2012!
We have also managed to reach our 2000 followers milestone on our Insanely Cakes Facebook Page and nearly reached 1000 followers milestone on our Insanely Cakes Twitter Page - which we are astounded and truly humbled by!

Insanely Cakes started out way back in early February 2012 with our first cake being my harshest critic to date; our daughter's Hello Kitty birthday cake:

Since then we have grown, met many fabulously talented bakers in the Caking Industry:

The silver fox himself, Paul Hollywood with The Insane Baker - Insanely Cakes aka Nirusha Govender

The lovely Peggy Porschen with The Insane Baker - Insanely Cakes aka Nirusha Govender

and we have been blessed to be involved with some fabulous cake and cupcake projects - here are just a few highlights of the year:

 Our cupcake and cake decorating classes both private and in partnership with Hobbycraft UK:

Our latest albums showcasing work and projects undertaken,  plus cupcake decorating classes both private and those in partnership with Hobbycraft UK can be seen on both our Insanely Cakes Facebook Page and for the latest funny, lighthearted cake related humour including messages from our celebrity followers why not join us on our Insanely Cakes Twitter Page ....

As this year comes to an end and we wait to ring the New Year in - we are grateful for all of our blessings and the unconditional support from all of you out there; we would like to leave you with some words for thought that a colleague shared with us recently:

To your enemy, forgiveness.
To your opponent, tolerance.
To your friend your heart.
To a customer, service.
To all, charity.
To every child, a good example.
To yourself, respect.

Here is our final cake made for 2012 which was a Jolly Santa Family Christmas Cake which sadly we could not bring ourselves to devour as my 5 year old daughter had become Besties with Santa and couldn't possibly eat him!

To the team behind the scenes - Jenny and Vaz, thank you for all your hard work and support throughout the year! Have a fabulous New Year lovely people wherever in the world you may be.... here's to health, prosperity and lots of cake! Be prepared for an exciting, jam packed cakey sweetness in 2013!

Big cakey hugs and love to you all!  The Insane Baker! xxx
