A look back at 2012 as we wait to welcome 2013! Happy New Year!

Hello all,

Its been quite some time since my first blog earlier this year! We have been rushed off our feet! Its been a great debut year for us at Insanely Cakes and we would like to take this opportunity to thank each and everyone of our fans, clients and suppliers who have supported us throughout 2012!
We have also managed to reach our 2000 followers milestone on our Insanely Cakes Facebook Page and nearly reached 1000 followers milestone on our Insanely Cakes Twitter Page - which we are astounded and truly humbled by!

Insanely Cakes started out way back in early February 2012 with our first cake being my harshest critic to date; our daughter's Hello Kitty birthday cake:

Since then we have grown, met many fabulously talented bakers in the Caking Industry:

The silver fox himself, Paul Hollywood with The Insane Baker - Insanely Cakes aka Nirusha Govender

The lovely Peggy Porschen with The Insane Baker - Insanely Cakes aka Nirusha Govender

and we have been blessed to be involved with some fabulous cake and cupcake projects - here are just a few highlights of the year:

Our cupcake and cake decorating classes both private and in partnership with Hobbycraft UK:

Our latest albums showcasing work and projects undertaken,  plus cupcake decorating classes both private and those in partnership with Hobbycraft UK can be seen on both our Insanely Cakes Facebook Page and for the latest funny, lighthearted cake related humour including messages from our celebrity followers why not join us on our Insanely Cakes Twitter Page ....

As this year comes to an end and we wait to ring the New Year in - we are grateful for all of our blessings and the unconditional support from all of you out there; we would like to leave you with some words for thought that a colleague shared with us recently:

To your enemy, forgiveness.
To your opponent, tolerance.
To your friend your heart.
To a customer, service.
To all, charity.
To every child, a good example.
To yourself, respect.

Here is our final cake made for 2012 which was a Jolly Santa Family Christmas Cake which sadly we could not bring ourselves to devour as my 5 year old daughter had become Besties with Santa and couldn't possibly eat him!

To the team behind the scenes - Jenny and Vaz, thank you for all your hard work and support throughout the year! Have a fabulous New Year lovely people wherever in the world you may be.... here's to health, prosperity and lots of cake! Be prepared for an exciting, jam packed cakey sweetness in 2013!

Big cakey hugs and love to you all!  The Insane Baker! xxx

Welcome! Insanely Cakes has joined the world of blogging!

Hello  and Welcome to all our followers/likers old and new......

The Insane baker has finally decided to join the world of blogging and what a lovely day to mark its beginnings but on the birthday of my Dad (who has been the senior culinary master of our family)! Wow...you can now access us via Twitter, Facebook, FlickrPinterest, our Blog and website: www.insanelycakes.co.uk to find out what baking mania is taking place at our HQ or where to meet the Insane Baker for a class in cake/cupcake decorating!!!!

Please do bare with me as we delve into this.....its relatively new to me... So I guess first things first.... lets update you about our company if you have just joined our Insanely Cakes World!!!

We are a cake company based in the heart of Kent. We bake bespoke cakes / cupcakes for any occasions including weddings, birthdays, christenings, celebrations, corporate events. All our cakes/cupcakes are made fresh to order using the finest quality fair trade ingredients as well as free range eggs and the finest quality vanilla extract. The company is home based and is fully insured and has achieved the highest food hygiene rating from our local council food standards agency.

The Insane Baker (aka me - also a registered pharmacist) comes from a family of serious foodies and has been baking with her grandma since the tender age of 5! Over the years, I have developed my skills and have completed professional cake decorating courses with some renowned members of the baking industry.

Insanely Cakes now offers cake/cupcake decorating classes from beginners with little or no experience right through to those experienced bakers who wish to refresh their skills. Most classes are full day courses however, we do run shorter courses to suit the requirements of our clients. Classes are currently held for individuals, small groups and corporate clients. We offer the flexibility of providing the classes in the comfort of your own home/workplace or alternately at Insanely Cakes HQ.

Recently, we have been able to offer cupcake decorating master classes in partnership with Hobbycraft UK. Branches currently include Hobbycraft Broadstairs(Kent) and Hobbycraft(Maidstone). To join our mailing list of any of these classes and promotional offers then e-mail us: buttercream@insanelycakes.co.uk

For regular updates be sure to follow us on TwitterFacebookFlickr and Pinterest too....

I am looking forward to posting blogs about our caking adventures and look forward to the feedback from all you lovelies..... I plan to also provide some tutorials in the future and would love to find out what people would like me to include in these.

Here's to new beginnings and fun baking times......

Sending you all some cakey love,

The Insane Baker! xxx
